WHY DOES THIS PROJECT EXIST?
This project was born from a very personal story.
A friend of my daughter, whom she has known since they were very young, was diagnosed with leukemia at the age of eight.
She fought through it and went into remission. Then, in August 2025, we learned that the illness had returned.
From that moment on, everything changed. For her, of course, for her family, but also for the children around her.
My daughter suddenly found herself facing questions no child should ever have to ask, along with a fear that slowly but surely began to settle in: the fear of losing her friend.
I watched these children try to understand, to cope, and to carry on living with something far too overwhelming for their age.
As a mother, and as a photographer, I couldn’t simply stand by and watch.
I felt the need to create something that could give a shape to everything we cannot see: the emotions we don’t always know how to express, and the silent pain experienced by families and children facing illness.
HOLLOW TO LIGHT was born from this. From this reality.
From the need to transform what we were going through into images — to tell a story, to make people feel, and to keep these experiences from remaining in the shadows.
Almost a year later, what began as an idea has become a book featuring 62 photographs.
And I wanted this story to become a way of giving something back to children in return. This is why the proceeds from the sales of HOLLOW TO LIGHT will be donated to the Fondation des Hôpitaux de France,
a French foundation working to improve the lives and well-being of children and teenagers in hospital.

62 photographies. 92 pages.

THE PROJECT IN DETAIL
HOLLOW TO LIGHT is a charity photography book featuring 62 photographs, each inspired by the lyrics of Stray Kids.
For almost a year, I translated these words into images — not by illustrating the songs literally, but by exploring the emotions they can evoke: fear, emptiness, pain, struggle, hope and healing.
The book is conceived as an emotional journey, moving from darkness towards light.
Through four chapters — the fall, wandering, the fight and healing — the photographs echo one another and gradually tell a single story: that of someone who falls, loses their way, finds the strength to rise again, and eventually reaches the light.
62 photographs. 92 pages. Almost a year of creation. A book created to give shape to emotions that words alone sometimes cannot express.
Proceeds from the sales will be donated to the Fondation des Hôpitaux de France.
